The project seeks to innovate in the use of bamboo fibers for creating sustainable composites in aeronautical applications. It aims to develop a low-energy process to convert bamboo fibers into continuous strands for improved mechanical properties.
Fiber-reinforced composites have been in use, in particular for aeronautical applications, for the past 40 years, mostly thanks to their high specific mechanical properties providing high strength and stiffness.
