This project investigates the relationship between metabolism and neurodegeneration, particularly in Alzheimer's disease. It focuses on a novel class of receptors that regulate neuronal function and metabolic homeostasis, aiming to uncover how disturbances in these processes contribute to brain health issues.
Alzheimer disease (AD) is the most common form of age-related dementia affecting millions of patients worldwide.
Disturbingly, disorders of lipid and glucose metabolism emerge as major risk factors for onset and progression of neurodegeneration in the human population.
