The BEEP project focuses on assessing genetic diversity in species to predict extinction risks due to environmental changes. By integrating genomic data with satellite observations, it aims to create a framework for conservation efforts, particularly for endangered species.
Environmental degradation due to land-use, over-exploitation and climate change rapidly erodes Europe’s unique biodiversity, resulting in irreversible loss of valuable resources both for ecosystem functions and for human well-being.
