This project focuses on enhancing the international competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Basque Country. It aims to provide tailored support services to help these businesses access European and global markets, thereby fostering growth and sustainability.
SMEs are the backbone of Europe's economy.
They represent 99% of all businesses in the EU.
In the past five years, they have created around 85% of new jobs and provided two-thirds of the total private sector employment in the EU.
It is important to note that while the prospects for SME success are tied with macro-economic developments, they by no means identically mirror all of them.
