This project focuses on the type 3 secretion system in Gram-negative bacteria, which delivers effector proteins to host cells. It aims to understand the structure and function of this system to reveal how bacteria manipulate host responses during infection.
Bacterial pathogens secrete effector proteins to manipulate host cells during infection.
In Gram-negative bacteria the conserved type 3 secretion system (T3SS) delivers effector proteins to the host cell in a spatiotemporal manner.
