This project investigates early language acquisition in infants by examining their sensitivity to speech rhythm and amplitude. It employs advanced EEG techniques to identify neural and behavioral markers that can predict language development, aiming to improve understanding of phonological and morphological growth.
Half of “late talkers”, infants who are not yet speaking by 2 years of age, will go on to develop language impairments.
Currently, we have no reliable means of identifying these infants.
