AxoBrain aims to leverage the axolotl's unique regenerative abilities to study brain repair mechanisms. The project will create detailed maps of the axolotl brain and investigate how it regenerates after injury, with the goal of applying these insights to develop strategies for tissue regeneration in mammals.
The Axolotl is an extraordinary model system to study regeneration in tetrapods.
