This project investigates the neural mechanisms underlying cognitive inflexibility in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by analyzing brain activity during bistable perception. The goal is to provide empirical evidence for the neural basis of mental rigidity in ASD and develop non-invasive interventions.
Perceptual and cognitive inflexibility is considered to underlie the repetitive and restricted behaviours of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
However, despite its severe effects on daily life of autistic individuals, the biological basis of these ASD core symptoms remain little known.
