The ATENEA project integrates Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Inertial Navigation System (INS) technologies with LIDAR to improve navigation solutions for surveying in challenging environments. It aims to enhance performance in urban areas with limited satellite visibility.
The ATENEA project aims to integrate the deeply integrated GNSS/INS receiver architectures and LIDAR techniques to provide an advanced navigation solution for a wide range of surveying applications in difficult environments. LIDAR devices geolocation and reference for the scanned observables is provided nowadays by loosely coupled GPS receivers and INS, leading to lack of performance in urban scenarios with poor satellite visibility and harsh multipath conditions.
