The ATCOM project investigates how relational memory is encoded through eye movements and attention. By analyzing eye-tracking data and brain activity, it aims to uncover the mechanisms behind how we relate concepts and share understanding.
Declarative memory is fundamentally relational.
We not only remember things or events, but also whether and how they are related to each other.
Cracking the mental code that supports relational memory is one of the greatest challenges of cognitive neuroscience.
