The ASymbEL project explores microbial symbioses, particularly focusing on archaeal and bacterial groups. It aims to understand their evolutionary significance and interactions through advanced genomic and microscopy techniques.
Microbial symbioses play an essential role in most aspects of lifes evolution and enabled major evolutionary events such as the origin of eukaryotes.
