AssesSkin aims to develop a medical device for assessing skin biomechanical properties, addressing issues like wounds and cosmetic needs. By utilizing an impact-based measurement method, it seeks to provide a non-invasive solution for personalized medicine in dermatology and cosmetic industries.
Skin pathologies including wounds, scars and tumors represent important public health issues. (e.g. melanoma is the first cancer in terms of increasing frequency).
Moreover, skin firmness is an essential property aimed by cosmetic products.
