This project seeks to enhance the value of Salicornia europaea, a halophyte plant, by utilizing its fibrous residues for bioenergy and pharmaceuticals. It aims to integrate aquaculture with Salicornia farming to create sustainable circular economies.
One of the most important challenges of the 21st century is to meet the world's demand for sustainably produced biomass for both food and the growing bio-products sector.
