This project investigates how certain parasites, specifically Plasmodium and Toxoplasma, invade host cells. It focuses on the role of actin dynamics in the host cell during the invasion process, challenging previous assumptions about the mechanisms involved in this critical interaction.
Members of the Apicomplexa phylum are obligatory intracellular parasites many of which being important human pathogens.
