This project seeks to reconstruct the evolutionary history of infectious diseases by analyzing ancient pathogens' DNA from historical burial sites. It aims to provide insights into how these pathogens have influenced human genetics and disease susceptibility over time.
Here we propose a first step toward a direct reconstruction of the evolutionary history of human infectious disease agents by obtaining genome wide data of historic pathogens.
