This project explores the cultural impact of apartheid in South Africa by analyzing its global circulation during the Cold War. It aims to understand how apartheid influenced cultural production and shaped perceptions of Western liberalism, using a transnational approach to historical analysis.

Whereas the South African regime was deeply isolationist in international terms, new research links it to the Cold War and decolonization.
