This project investigates Anderson localization in ultra-cold quantum gases within disordered optical potentials. It aims to explore the transition between localized and diffusive states, enhancing understanding of wave physics through innovative techniques and precise measurements.
Anderson localization (AL) – an effect arising from interference of multiple-scattering events and leading to a complete halt of transport in disordered media – is a fundamental phenomenon, ubiquitous in all wave physics.
Ultra-cold quantum gases in disordered optical potentials offer a clean environment to study AL.
