This project aims to explore the relationship between bone structure and blood vessel development, focusing on how these systems interact during health and aging. It employs advanced imaging and genetic techniques to understand vascular dynamics and their implications for bone health.
The skeleton and the sinusoidal vasculature form a functional unit with great relevance in health, regeneration, and disease.
Currently, fundamental aspects of sinusoidal vessel growth, specialization, arteriovenous organization and the consequences for tissue perfusion, or the changes occurring during ageing remain unknown.
