This project analyzes the diplomatic and cultural roles of female ambassadors in 17th century Madrid, focusing on their influence on diplomatic relations and cultural exchanges. It aims to highlight their contributions to informal diplomacy and gender dynamics in foreign relations.
The aim of my project is to analyse the diplomatic and cultural role of the Imperial ambassadresses in the court of Madrid, along with the impact of their posts upon their subsequent lives in the court of Vienna.
