This project focuses on developing a new pelletizing technology to convert diverse agricultural residues into energy. By enabling farmers to utilize their waste effectively, it aims to enhance income and contribute to climate goals through renewable energy production.
100 million tons of agricultural residues are sustainably available per year for the production of energy in the EU, corresponding to 3.2 % of the EU’s final energy consumption.
One promising way to use this potential is to pelletise the residues for their combustion in CHP plants.
