This project investigates algebraic geometry related to moduli spaces of curves and sheaves. It includes research on cohomology and map/sheaf equivalences, alongside educational activities to enhance knowledge and training in these mathematical concepts at the Instituto Superior Tecnico in Lisbon.
The proposal has two main parts.
The first part is a research program that I will pursue concerning the algebraic geometry of moduli spaces of curves, maps, and sheaves.
The central questions attacked concern cohomology, Virasoro constraints, and map/sheaf equivalences.
The methods used are new localization/degeneration techniques related to the virtual classes of the corresponding moduli questions.
The project, while in pure mathematics, is related also to topological string theory.
