This project aims to enhance the understanding of age-friendly cities by conducting interdisciplinary research that integrates insights from various fields such as social geography, psychology, and urban design. It seeks to develop strategies that promote healthy and active aging in urban environments.
Need for the research:
Although the issues raised by the 'age-friendly city' movement are well-understood at the level of the World Health Organisation and European Union, awareness within relevant academic disciplines is still limited.
