This project focuses on understanding the structural biology of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) to improve drug design. It aims to elucidate the interactions between specific GPCRs and their protein ligands using advanced crystallography techniques.
G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) proteins are the single largest drug target, representing 30% of all marketed drugs.
All GPCRs share a basic structural core of seven transmembrane alpha-helical domains.
