The ADJSYN project aims to enhance vaccine effectiveness against diseases like malaria and tuberculosis by studying the synergy of specific immunostimulants in adjuvants. It seeks to understand how these components interact to boost immune responses, providing insights for future vaccine development.
The need to develop vaccines against challenging diseases such as malaria or tuberculosis requires effective adjuvants to improve the immune responses against purified antigens, as these antigens often lack intrinsic immunogenicity.
Most adjuvants act on innate immunity leading to the activation of antigen presenting cells and induction of memory T cell and antibody responses to the vaccine.
