This research examines the legitimacy and accountability issues within competition law in the European Union. It analyzes the role of consumer interests and proposes solutions to enhance consumer participation and oversight in the enforcement of competition rules.
This proposal offers interdisciplinary, empirical and comparative research into the legitimacy and accountability problems facing EU competition law. EU competition law has gone through a significant reform process orchestrated by the European Commission.
