The Safe Heat project aims to develop an innovative internal heating solution for Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) using a novel coating with high conductivity. This technology will enhance heating efficiency, reduce energy costs, and minimize waste during manufacturing processes involving viscous materials.
Over 29m moulded drums and Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) were estimated to have been manufactured in Europe by 2008 with the total number of plastic IBCs manufactured p.a. in Europe in 2008 estimated to be 4m units.
Many materials stored in IBCs become viscous at room temperature.
