The 3DPartForm project aims to innovate polymer material design by utilizing microparticles for additive manufacturing. This approach seeks to create multifunctional and responsive materials that can adapt to various stimuli, enhancing applications in soft robotics and biotechnology.
New polymer materials are necessary to match the demand for highly integrated, multifunctional, responsive systems for sensing, information processing, soft robotics or multi-parametric implants.
Both establishedmaterial design concepts based on lithography, and emerging engineering efforts based on additive manufacturing (AM) are currently not able to fully address the need for topologically complex, multifunctionaland stimuli-responsive polymer materials.
