3DB is developing advanced lithium-ion batteries that are thin, flexible, and capable of high energy densities for smart wearable devices. Their technology aims to significantly extend battery life, enabling devices like smartwatches and augmented reality glasses to operate longer and more efficiently.
There is a rapid rise of smart consumer wearable devices in recent years, from go-pros to smart watches and the burgeoning field of Augmented Reality (AR) eyewear.
These new and emerging industries require batteries that are increasingly thin, lightweight, flexibly-shaped, and bendable to fit existing and future smart electronics –e.g. fitting within the wrist band of a smartwatch, or the rims of smart glasses.
