About
Portland Caribbean Fund II invests in SMEs located in the Caribbean Basin. It has a target size of USD 300m and is managed by Portland Private Equity, a firm based in Canada. The Fund has a specific focus on developing a portfolio of minority equity and quasi-equity interests in Caribbean-based SMEs and mid-sized enterprises with an emphasis on communications, energy (including renewables), agri-business and tourism/hospitality. The Fund Manager's aim is to deploy expansion capital typically between USD 10m and USD 40m in companies offering significant growth potential, able to show results within a few years. Portland Caribbean Fund II is the successor fund to AIC Caribbean Fund, a 2007-vintage fund with a fund size of USD 225m.
